State-run BSNL 3G is the only telecom operator that has failed the call drop test conducted by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) in Amritsar, the regulator said on Tuesday. All other mobile carriers have successfully met the Call Drop Rate of 2%, the report said.

“All operators are meeting the Call Drop Rate benchmark of 2% except BSNL 3G,” a statement released by Trai said. State-run BSNL 3G was the worst performer at the call drop test with a Call Drop Rate of 18.26%.

Leading telecom companies Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone passed the call drop test with their Call Drop Rates well below the 2% benchmark. All the operators have met the Call Setup Success Rate benchmark of 95%, the authority said.

As a part of this audit, the Audit Agency M/s Phistream carried out Independent Drive Test for Cellular Mobile Telephone services in the city of Amritsar in Punjab service area, from 18th to 19th August 2016 covering various locations in the city. The performance of various telecom companies is tested over a distance of 300 k.m. of the city.
