Karnataka state road transportation corporation to provide free wifi for the ksrtc passengers soon. There was a trial free wifi provided to 24 stations of Karnataka and they get a positive feedback on the free wifi. So they decided to expand free wifi services to more luxury and general coach buses all over the karanataka. And this free wifi service will be soon implented to passenger. For giving this free wifi, they are setting high speed broadband connection for all ksrtc stations in Karnataka.
There are total 458 stations in karnataka and 18,704 buses belonging to KSRTC, NEKRTC and NWKRTC. Total has been applied for the tender for free wifi. The last date will be 23, January,2017. Ksrtc have no investment for this project and the company paying the whole money for this project. But they can take profit from advertisements. Currently this free wifi services running successfully in cities including Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kolar, Mandya, Hassan and Dharmasthala.
