Samsung to launch airpods similar to Apple

Samsung is reportedly planning to have its own version of Apple AirPods. According to a report in SamMobile, the company is planning to take on Apple’s much-fancied AirPods with its own earbuds.

As per the report, the earbuds will come along with the company’s upcoming flagship Galaxy S8. “Samsung is surely looking to put out a product that competes with Apple’s AirPods,” says the report.

According to the Sammobile report, it is not clear if the wireless earphones will be bundled alongside Galaxy S8 smartphones or sold separately. Also, it is not certain if company, like Apple, will too junk the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Another speculation is if the earbuds will feature Harman audio technology or not. Also Apple’s AirPods sync with Android devices, so it remains to be seen whether Samsung will offer same compatibility in its upcoming earbuds.

Incidentally, if the wireless earbuds are launched, this will not be the company’s first outing in the segment. For, the company earlier launched Gear IconX.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy S8 has been in the news for months now. Latest rumours suggest that Korean giant is planning to replace its traditional physical button with a capacitive key in the upcoming smartphone.

According to a tweet from Android Police’s David Ruddock, ‘Galaxy S8 will completely ditch hardware navigation keys, Samsung is switching to all soft keys with 3D touch-like functionality.’

In another tweet, he said that that soft touch keys will come with 3D touch-like functionality. These keys will be pressure sensitive as well as customisable. This also makes analysts speculate that Galaxy S8 may also sport a tiny bezel at the bottom.
