The ministry of IT's digital kiosks got the licence to become a bbps operator. The main services of this is printing of Aadhaar numbers, booking rail tickets and providing assisted ecommerce services.
Rbi opened application for BBPS earlier on this month and banks, wallet payment gateway and also telecom operators where applies to this. BBPS new feauture will help to pay all bills and payments to a single platform which will be runs by NPCI, which handles all retail payments in the country.
Initially BBPS accept bill payments like electricity, water, gas, telephone and direct-to-home services, and later include include more services like school and university fees and municipal taxes. Oxigen Services, BillDesk, TechProcess Payment Services and Paytm are to get license for BBPS.
