Airtel new v-Fiber with 100 Mbps speed in mumbai

India's largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Wednesday launched their latest broadband technology V-Fiber in Mumbai that aims to provide an internet speed of 100 Mbps over Airtel's existing broadband footprint in the city.

V-Fiber is based on vectorisation, a broadband technology which will enable superfast data speeds, HD video streaming and uploads in a multi-device environment. This latest technological step is part of Airtel's transformation initiative called Project Leap.

"Airtel is investing to upgrade all existing broadband to make it future proof," Sameer Batra, chief executive officer - Mumbai, Bharti Airtel said to ET in a telephonic conversation.

Customers can avail a rental plan of 30 GB at Rs 899 that will offer a speed up to 40 Mbps, and can subsequently avail the three months unlimited offer.

Airtel's 'myHome Rewards' programme will provide additional data benefit of 5GB per month for every other Airtel service connection postpaid mobile or DTH  withing the home. The telco will also offer unlimited voice calling for all broadband customers.

Exisiting Airtel broadband customers can upgrade to V-Fibre by replacing their old modems with new modems for Rs 1000. The payment for the same can be carried out through installments of Rs 200 over five months.

Customers can register their requests at www.airtel.in/vfiber, call on 18001030121 or walk into any Airtel's retail shop.
