Mukesh Ambani-driven Reliance Jio is looking to expand user base for its ‘JioChat’ app by luring customers through its latest offers. The telco recently sent out promotional notifications to users, asking them to invite friends on JioChat to win JioFi 4G personal hotspot, JioFi devices and movie tickets.
According to reports, the offer is valid from November 28 to December 4, 2016. On successfully inviting 5 friends to JioChat, users can win a couple movie ticket. The top 5 users to invite maximum number of friends would get JioFi 4G personal hotspot, as per the offer.

JioChat is a messaging, voice and video calling app which also allows users to make group video calls. The new entrant’s app is competing with Whatsapp, Hike, Google Allo and the like.
According to a recent report by eMarketer, India is the second-largest market for messaging apps and is also the fastest growing market for mobile messaging apps.

The new telecom operator has also crossed 50 million subscribers as on November 26, becoming India‘s top carrier by mobile broadband user base, surpassing Bharti Airtel. The telco’s offers on the JioChat app could be a move to fully tap the potential of its wide userbase and explore new revenue channels.
