The 4G LTE HomePhone features a 3.5 Inch TFT Colour touch screen and runs Android 5.1 operating system.
RCom was earlier in talks with Swedish network major Ericsson, Finnish network provider Nokia, besides Chinese competitors Huawei and ZTE, for a VoLTE deployment in India. However, there hasn’t been any update on the company’s VoLTE plans.
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio has built a pan-India VoLTE network in India, and is relying heavily on the technology to deliver voice services, whereas the country’s leading telco, Bharti Airtel, is preparing to offer nationwide VoLTE services to its customers in coming months. Both Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are using Nokia’s IP multimedia system (IMS) solution for VoLTE service in India.
The Anil Ambani-led company kicked off its high-speed 4G services in July this year with the help of its spectrum trading and sharing agreements with Jio, which commenced commercial operations from September 5. RCom has airwaves in the efficient 850 Mhz band in all circles, besides liberalized spectrum in 2100 Mhz in 13 circles, on which it can offer VoLTE services.
RCom has also launched two plans for its 4G LTE HomePhone --4G Smart Life 299 and 4G Smart Life 499. The 4G Smart Life 299 plan offers 300 local, STD and roaming voice minutes, and 2GB data usage. The Rs 499 plan offers 300 local, STD and roaming voice minutes, and 4GB data usage.
